Katarina and Scotts Winter Garden wedding took place on a perfectly clear crisp winters day in August. They were a bit worried about and outdoor winter wedding and what the weather was going to be like. The date was pushed forward due to Katarinas’s pregnancy, but it ended up being a beautiful day. It rained everyday leading up it so they felt so lucky to have the sun shining for the day.

The wedding was to be small, intimate and relaxed . The laid-back atmosphere with beautiful lounges and arm chairs, lawn games, and open table outdoor seating really reflects who Scott and Katarina are as a couple. Having a cocktail reception worked well as it allowed everyone to move freely and enjoy the grounds, Everyone really enjoyed the food. Some even said it was the best wedding food they’d had which was a great compliment! Having the reception outdoors showcased the gorgeous rural scenery and allowed the whole reception to enjoy the perfect midday winter sun. They wanted a venue that could accommodate all there guests and have somewhere for them to wind down afterwards. Having both Bride and Groom get ready on the same property allowed Kendell the photographer the ability to move freely between both parties depending on who was doing the most exciting things. Brenda the owner of the Somesby Garden Estate was very warm and welcoming and very helpful in the planning process. Katarina and Scott still wanted to look quite formal on our day. She was absolutely in love Johanna Johnson’s glamorous style of dresses and new once she tried one on that she wanted to wear one of her designs Katarina tweaked the dress a little by adding extra embellishment and a cape instead of a veil for extra warmth/ protection.
